Steinhauer floor lamp with height-adjustable rod, 80s

Rare, height-adjustable floor lamp by Steinhauer with a 50 cm shade, 1980s. The knob at the end of the wooden base allows the metal rod to be secured at the desired height. The pull cord on the inside allows the lights to be switched on or off as desired. Otherwise, the lamp is characterized by its simple design of wood and plastic. The lamp is fully functional.

On October 21, 1933, Hendrik Jan Steinhauer laid the foundation for what would grow into a leading family business in decorative lighting. Steinhauer started in Amsterdam with a small assortment, but grew over the following decades into an established name in the Netherlands and far beyond. Later, production was moved to Apeldoorn. In the early years, Steinhauer produced its lamps entirely in-house. The workshops housed impressive vacuum forming machines used to manufacture plastic lampshades.
