Guy Lefevre coffee table for Maison Jansen, 70s
1970s coffee table by Guy Lefevre for Maison Jansen, in very good condition. The frame is made of brushed nickel-plated brass and the top is made of aubergine lacquered wood. The inside of the drawer and the bottom of the drawer are made of mahogany wood. The paint is in very good condition with some signs of wear.
Guy Lefèvre (1933-2018) is a designer best known for his work for the French brand Maison Jansen, for which he designed furniture in the 1960s. He has also collaborated with brands such as Knoll, Steiner, and Artifort. His creations are characterised by a sophisticated aesthetic, characterised by the use of modern materials such as metal, glass and leather. In particular, he designed armchairs and sofas with simple and elegant lines, which were very successful in the 1970s. Guy Lefèvre has received numerous awards and prizes throughout his career and is considered one of the greatest French designers of the second half of the 20th century.
