Aeto floor lamp by Fabio Lombardo for Flos

Beautifully designed 'Aeto' floor lamp by Fabio Lombardo for Flos, Italy, 1980s. The black floor lamp features an adjustable, eye-shaped light source, a round black metal base, and a black stem. The lamp has both an on/off switch and a dimmer, operated by a metal knob located under the base. This lamp is archetypal of post-war Italian design. Its almost figurative and whimsical silhouette was highly sought after by postmodern designers of the 1980s, who favored bold, subjective, and distinctive objects. The lamp is in very good condition.

The lamp is featured in the design book by Giuliana Gramigna, Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000 per L'Arredamento Domestico. Allemandi: Torino, 2003, p. 410.
