Steinhauer 'gooseneck' floor lamp, 70/80s

This light wooden 'gooseneck' floor lamp by Steinhauer from the 1970s impresses with its simple wood and plastic design. The lamp has two adjustable lampshades that can be directed flexibly - ideal for reading or directional lighting. The combination of light brown wood and white plastic shades gives the lamp a classic Mid Century look that can be easily integrated into various interior styles. The lamp is easily operated with the footswitch on the lighting cord, which makes it possible to switch each lamp on or off separately. The lamp is fully functional.

On October 21, 1933, Hendrik Jan Steinhauer laid the foundation for what would become a leading family business in decorative lighting. Steinhauer started in Amsterdam with a small range of products, but grew into an established name in the Netherlands and far beyond in the decades that followed. Later, the production was moved to Apeldoorn. In the early years, Steinhauer produced his lamps entirely in-house. In the workshops, there were impressive vacuum forming machines that made plastic lampshades. The typical orange and brown tones of the 70s — extremely popular at the time — characterised their range.
