Brass desk lamp with black shade and golden-yellow racing stripes

What an eye-catcher, this desk lamp with its black shade and golden-yellow racing stripes. Similar pieces are often attributed to Fase or Lupela, perhaps due to the adjustable shade. There is no actual evidence for this, but who cares? This lamp offers plenty of room for stories and speculation, not least because the brass crossbar seems to serve no functional purpose other than simply being there.
