Solbackens Svarveri oak wood floor lamp type 1031, 70s

The AB Solbackens Svarveri Typ 1031 is a classic Swedish floor lamp from the 1970s, characterised by a minimalist Scandinavian design with an adjustable arm. This one combines the darker, more luxurious look of the oak with the (original) linen shade. Another detail is that the on/off switch at the top has an oak button.

The lamps by the Swedish brand AB Solbackens Svarveri are known for their Scandinavian modernism, which mainly uses pine wood or (pine) wood, although there are also rarer varieties in oak, such as this one. These vintage pieces from the 60s and 70s are characterized by their functional, often articulated designs and the use of natural materials. The floor lamp has a wooden joint or a “gooseneck” construction, so that the light can be precisely adjusted.
