Steinhauer dark mushroom floor lamp, 80s
Two dark, oak mushroom floor lamps by Steinhauer from the 1980s. The plexiglass shade, with an impressive diameter of 50 cm, rests on a 155 cm wooden base. The three E27 sockets allow the lamp to emit any desired ambiance. Otherwise, the lamp is characterized by its simple wood and plastic design. Both lamps are fully functional with two tiny, barely visible cracks on the shade of one of the lamps (see last photo).
On October 21, 1933, Hendrik Jan Steinhauer laid the foundation for what would grow into a leading family business in decorative lighting. Steinhauer started in Amsterdam with a small assortment but grew in the following decades into an established name in the Netherlands and far beyond. Production was later moved to Apeldoorn. In its early years, Steinhauer produced its lamps entirely in-house. The workshops housed impressive vacuum forming machines used to manufacture plastic lampshades.
