Luigi Colani Lusch Tulip chair

Tulip chair designed by Luigi Colani for the German manufacturer Lusch. The design dates back to 1972. The white reinforced fiberglass shell rests on a four-legged base. The chair is in excellent condition regarding its color, as the white plastic can often turn yellow over time due to sunlight exposure. Not this piece. There are light signs of wear on the base (see photos for details), but otherwise, the chair is in near-mint condition.

Luigi Colani (1928-2019) was an influential German industrial designer, known for his organic, aerodynamic forms found in everything from cars to household items. The Tulip chairs he designed for Lusch in the 1970s are characterized by their fluid fiberglass silhouette and are now considered rare vintage objects.
