Blue Aeto floor lamp by Fabio Lombardo for Flos
Beautifully designed 'Aeto' floor lamp by Fabio Lombardo for Flos, Italy, 1980s. The floor lamp features an adjustable, deep blue eye-shaped light source and stem on a round black metal base. The lamp has both an on/off switch and a dimmer, operated by a metal knob under the base. This lamp is archetypal of post-war Italian design. Its almost figurative and whimsical silhouette was highly sought after by postmodern designers of the 1980s, who favored bold, subjective, and expressive objects. The lamp is in good condition with minor signs of wear on the stem and shade holder.
The lamp is featured in the design book by Giuliana Gramigna, Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000 per L'Arredamento Domestico. Allemandi: Torino, 2003, p. 410.
